Heathcoat Fabrics’ unique 3D spacetec® material is lightweight, allowing for weight optimisation and inherently guarantees a breathable environment offering excellent ventilation, airflow, and regulated air distribution. Moisture and temperature management can be provided, including one-way wicking properties.

At the same time, spacetec fabric® benefits with properties like high pressure distribution, compression recovery; and has no risk of delamination. In addition, the material can be supplied with flame retardant properties. A range of spacetec® products are certified OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 (Class 1).

Through our unique manufacturing processes many different properties can be incorporated, and as a one-piece 3D structure spacetec® provides many additional advantages in comparison to traditional foams and multi-layer fabrics; they can also be heat-moulded and shaped.

From domestic bedding and furniture; to automotive and fighter aircraft seating, military combat and active wear; to healthcare and safety wear, we can engineer spacetec® to suit exacting customer specification and application requirements. Multiple constructions are manufactured in a gauge range of 2mm–12mm; with variable compression values and yarn combinations to precisely suit your specification.

Specialist finishes such as ‘antibacterial’ and ‘infra-red reflective’ can be applied and additional enhancements are available such as specialist flame retardant and heat resistant yarns, or adhesion promoters. Our latest flame-retardant spacetec® range utilise a unique silica yarn and conform to BS EN 14116 Index 3 and FAR 25.853.

Heathcoat Fabrics patented knitted dropstitch textile is a unique controlled expansion technology, providing controlled flat surface expansion, maintaining a consistent shape when inflated with air, foam or water. CEtec™ is designed to be used in a wide range of markets and industry applications including safety, protection, inflatables, lifting pads, packing, sports, mattresses and medical. Flexible options include a range of widths and multiple depths up to 500mm.
