CBRN fabric is a core proficiency of Heathcoat’s highly specialised business. Heathcoat continue to innovate and expand our range of advanced fabrics, featuring textiles for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) protection and possess the ability to impregnate a range of textile constructions with Chemical Warfare Agent (CWA) absorbent compounds.

NeutraliZr® fabric is a revolutionary material poised to transform military chemical defence applications. Developed in collaboration with Guild Associates Inc., NeutraliZr® textile offers unparalleled capabilities in rapidly adsorbing and detoxifying chemical warfare agents. By immobilising zirconium hydroxide onto the textile with a unique dust-free, non-shedding formulation, Heathcoat has created a material capable of direct contact with contaminated surfaces, including unbroken skin, ensuring rapid adsorption of chemical agents.

Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are a class of over 10,000 synthetic chemicals that are used in everyday products. They are often referred to as ‘forever chemicals’ because of their extreme persistence in the environment. Understanding the risk of these chemicals and recognising the potential of our NeutraliZr® textile technology, Heathcoat has developed a new PFAS-free material.

The PFAS-free, NeutraliZr® material, is being incorporated into CBRN garments as well as a unique Decon mitt application. These next-generation garments (with up to 24-hour protection against liquid, vapour and aerosol born CWAs) offer enhanced chemical protection and detoxification functionality, whilst also setting a new standard for lightweight CBRN protection with improved comfort, reduced thermal burden, and increased breathability.
