3D-spacetec fabric

3D spacetec® - comfort

With inherently flame retardant or treated polyester versions, our durable 3D spacer fabrics are available in a range of thicknesses, weights and designs for use anywhere that needs compression resistance and air flow. Where other products can get waterlogged, the structure of our spacetec® range allows water to pass through avoiding heat conduction, drying quickly, and allowing air flow.

Heathcoat’s range of PBI fabrics offers lightweight, breathable protection against heat, flash fire and arc flash and will not ignite. They also offer excellent chemical splash resistance, perspiration and wicking properties. They do not become brittle, shrink, or break open when exposed to flame or high temperatures, ensuring high levels of protection for firefighters in all operational conditions.

Heathcoat PBI - superior frontline protection

The Heathcoat PBI range is headed by PRO, our strongest yet lightest weight product, with enhanced flame protection and market-leading UV resistant durability.

PBI Pro features high strength without compromising PBI thermal performance, engineered with the dual strength of filament para-aramid within a PBI protection barrier. The result is an uncompromised outer shell fabric optimised for user comfort with the reassurance of superior strength and protection, flashover tested without break open. High mechanical strength, light weight and enhanced fire-resistance meet the very toughest frontline demands.

The attractive birds-eye twill pattern compliments Shield’s advanced engineered fabric properties, offering an increased level of comfort and durability. The woven design allows greater air porosity to enhance and improve comfort and breathability.

A revolutionary concept, Dynamo incorporates a heat-activated yarn on the reverse of the fabric, which reshapes when exposed to flame to create small air pockets. The effect provides an additional layer of air insulation, proven to give higher protection against heat.

Core is made with an engineered fibre blend to protect the para-aramid structural element, increasing the retained strength of the fabric after exposure to UV all wrapped up in an appealing matrix-style design.

Lightweight PBI TGP is specially designed for technical rescue – The Heathcoat designed dyeable lightweight protective fabric is also widely used for wildland firefighting and protection of workers in the petrochemical, gas and electrical industries.

Innovating the future of your protection, Pbi PRO is also available at 185gsm using Pbi LP fibre. Both solutions offer exceptional protection without break open, great comfort and the highest strength. Woven in a comfort twill weave to increase air porosity and flexibility, Pbi PRO is one of the most comfortable PBI solutions available.

Police Protection

Our fabrics have been rigorously tested to ensure they give the maximum protection for use in public order or rapid intervention. Being exposed to high-risk environments and dangerous scenarios, our textiles provide protection to direct flame and chemical exposure, as well as anti-slash protection against knives and sharp objects.

These fabrics are designed with the highest level of comfort in mind, considering breathability and ease of movement, for the toughest environments.

Designed for:

  • Public order
  • Control and restraint
  • Dog handling
  • Wet weather
  • Firearms & Rapid Intervention

Industrial safety

Working within the industrial sector can expose workers to a variety of potentially fatal hazards, so it is critical that their personal protective equipment (PPE) meets high standards. Heathcoat Fabrics works together with Dupont and Protal to develop cutting-edge textiles that protect against molten metal, fire, and arc. In order to differentiate our customers from such a large industry, we promote collaboration to develop bespoke solutions.

Benefits of our PPE fabrics:

  • Bespoke solutions – We supply innovative high-performance safety fabrics, that meet your user and market-specific requirements.
  • PBI® dyed colours – Developed and strictly controlled dyeing processes enable us to produce a unique range of colour-fast PBI® fabrics.
  • High visibility – We offer knitted and woven fabrics with high visibility that are certified to the BS EN20471 standard.
  • Antibacterial and antimicrobial – All of our woven undergarments are finished with Ag+, our durable antibacterial finish which prevents bacterial growth, and helps to keep garments fresher, even after physical exertion
